'Super Smash Bros.' still dazzles on the Wii U

$ 3693 per day with facebook - Do you win ?

Nintendo launches the same game twice in a year, and his supporters could not be happier.

Super Smash Bros. Wii U is on the Friday after the 3DS capita for two months. 3DS release was, indeed, an appetizer for the fans, whetting the appetites of his brother full size.

We have already examined the 3DS version here. So instead of retreading old ground, we'll talk about what was great, different, or missing this iteration.

The power of the big screen

There is something missing to play a competitive title like Smash Bros. on a handheld: the power to unite the big screen. Regardless of the intensity of the game, it feels even more intense if you're all focused on the same thing. This is the power of coalescence Smash Bros. has had since its first release on the Nintendo 64.

Thus, even if the characters and some steps are exactly the same as the 3DS version, which some of us have already spent our circle pads play, the version of the Wii U Smash immediately above.

It does not hurt to have sharp HD graphics, either. Just like Mario Kart 8 earlier this year, to see a Nintendo franchise well trodden finally came to HD is revealing. Game sparks in most standard models and the rare moments when the camera moves in tight on the battles.

And for anyone interested in longevity 3DS checks after frantic game, it is nice to come back to something more substantial. The decision to Nintendo GameCube controller to remarketing is a nice nod to die hard gamers, but it is also probably the most comfortable way to play. Having this second joystick dedicated to powerful smash attacks is essential. (This feature also works on the Pro Controller and Wii U GamePad.)

The game just manages to how his predecessors, and excels beyond some of them. The characters seem more balanced than previous title Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. It is welcoming to new players without sacrificing the things those with higher skill levels will enjoy. And he excels at being a joy for four people to sit and play together.

The cooperative nature of Smash Bros. also extends to some of its additional game modes. Classic mode where you fight through waves of different types of enemies is even more fun with a friend. The Mario Party-esque Smash Tour - a board game inside the game - is also a nice diversion from the main game if you have a full party in attendance. But if I had to choose between her and Smash Run the exclusive point-farming method to the 3DS, I'd go with the latter in terms of replayability.

And the kitchen sink

It is in his extra stuff that Smash Bros. failed. Nintendo has not stopped boasting eight players in local play mode, but it is a sad reality in this mode: it is a novelty. It's not really that fun to play with eight people; the word I would use is overwhelming. In several attempts we made, half of the players - who are all experienced with the game - ended up saying things like "I have no idea what's going on," or the most common, "Where am -I? "

It's an idea that sounds good on paper - more players is obviously more epic, right? But it's a little crazy messy in practice.

Amiibo also a plug-it-or-leave-it idea. Amiibo are Nintendo characters who come to life as plastic toys, a concept that should not be familiar to anyone who has played a game Skylanders Infinity or Disney. Collectors can love taking every single figure, but it will not necessarily add their goal in the game. The characters controller computer "learn" as you fight against them. Each AI follows your movements and strengthens each battle, and intelligently learns your fighting style. (A Amiibo formed by a player who never stops as never learn to block, for example.)

But aside from the cute idea to lift something as your own, I'm not sure of the real point. AI already exist in the game, and you can even customize them. And looking at two Amiibo battle makes me want to turn on Twitch and watch the players fight real. The price tag $ 13-per-figure could be a deal breaker, though Amiibo unlock functions in other games.

better together

Super Smash Bros Wii U is the perfect balm for those itching for the next iteration. It succeeds where we really need to: be something fun to play with a group. It's a shame online features were not online at the time of this review, but we'll update when they are. Hopefully the general stability of 3DS connectivity points to a smooth start.

The real tests for the game ahead. The competitive scene will glom this iteration Smash Bros.? Can it be a dynamic scene online? These are important things that need to be successful, especially if it is an essential way to the lifting of the Wii U out of its slump.

Although the basic formula can be more of the same, the game has enough smart keys to keep it interesting.
