Volkswagen seems to play a cruel joke on the American public's automotive Auto Show in Los Angeles. It shows her sexy R Golf Variant with no clear intention of actually selling model here. The hot car launches in Europe in the spring, but the manufacturer makes absolutely no mention of prospects for the US model. Fortunately, his appearance in LA at least indicates VW plans to bring stateside.
The great thing about this car is that it has all the regular Golf R offers, but there is still more room to carry things. The same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 296 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque with a gearbox double clutch six-speed and 4Motion all-wheel drive. The performance is very close, too, with the R variant takes 5.1 seconds to get 62 miles per hour compared to 4.9 seconds for the standard R needs to read 60 mph. Both of them also have the same technology as goodies ESC Stability Control Sport and multiple depreciation methods. The real advantage to choose the estate is its ability to carry up to 57.2 cubic feet of cargo in back.
This truck Hot Rod seems to be perfect for the family who needs to carry extra junk in the trunk, but do not want to sacrifice performance. The R variant makes the United States remains a mystery, however. Scroll down to read the specs and feel a twinge of jealousy.
